About Conus

Ruth Faulkner

Ruth graduated from the English University of Warwick in 1992 with a first class honours degree in Accountancy and Financial Analysis. She immediately wrote her first commercial business plan and then successfully implemented it as a sales manager working within a small direct sales organisation overseas.

Ruth FaulknerShe then went to work for a large international accountancy firm, Arthur Andersen, in London. Her work was diverse and included both internal and external auditing, financial reporting and planning, business advising, due diligence and financial consultancy. Clients varied in size from small charities to global listed companies. She left Arthur Andersen having qualified as a Chartered Accountant and having gained significant business experience across many market sectors.

Although Ruth's primary responsibility is Conus Business Consultancy Services, she is also an experienced dive guide and instructor. She is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and an Emergency First Response Instructor.

Ruth's accountancy training and experience in business consultancy enables Conus to offer clients a unique service: a business advisor who is also an experienced dive instructor. Recent clients have included Reef Check Australia, Frumento Harvesting and Wongaling Meats.

 

Pete Faulkner

Pete studied at The City University Business School in London and after graduation in 1984 went to work as an Investment Banker. After 12 years of work he left the financial markets to travel the world.

Peter FaulknerHaving learnt to dive in 1985 Pete became a PADI Professional in 1999. Since then he has continued his professional training and is currently a PADI Master Instructor, EFR Instructor and certified to teach a total of 15 PADI Specialty courses. He has written 2 PADI Distinctive Specialty courses on Coral Identification.

In 1992 Pete became involved with the British not-for-profit group Coral Cay Conservation. Since then he has been on a number of CCC expeditions around the world both as a volunteer and Expedition Leader. In 2005 he was appointed Chairman.

Over the years Pete's volunteer work has included a mentoring project; leading a Duke of Edinburgh's Award group; a memorial trust to finance mountain safety; and business consultancy for a sustainable technologies charity. More recently he became a Trainer with Reef Check Australia.

Pete loves sharing his passion for the underwater world and presents a reef awareness and conservation show to educate people about the wonders of the coral reef.

Pete's primary responsibility is Conus Dive Training and Mission : awareness.
